We know very little about the late Billy Gene Davidson—except that he said, “Thank you!” to our hospital in a big way. Mr. Davidson was a Grand Prairie resident and former Marine who owned a landscaping business for 30 years. He never made a gift during his lifetime, but when he passed away, he left half of his estate proceeds to a Dallas orthopedic children’s hospital and half to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Irving. When we asked his estate executor what prompted his gift to us, she told us that Mr. Davidson always appreciated the care he received at the Baylor Scott & White – Irving Emergency Department. She told us he always asked the ambulance drivers to pass any other hospitals in order to make it to Irving because he trusted our emergency team most.
